So I made some DNA earrings.......
I was writing a lesson plan on the discovery of the structure of DNA when my lovely boyfriend said "You should make some DNA earrings." And by golly, I did.
Red = Adenine
Blue = Thymine
Green = Guanine
Yellow = Cytosine
Unfortunately, I did not take the time to figure out how to include the alternating phosphate and sugar residues along the backbone. Also, there is not a twist of the double helix every 10.4 base pairs, HOWEVER that only applies to DNA in its relaxed state, so I will just say it is slightly supercoiled.
Thank you Rosalind Franklin!
